How to Find the Pale Garden

The Pale Garden is the rarest biome in the Overworld of Minecraft and generates within Dark Forest biomes, where dark oak trees are found.

Simply wandering through Dark Forests to find it is often ineffective—many players report searching for hours without ever encountering a Pale Garden.

Based on my testing, the Pale Garden appears to generate with a high probability near Woodland Mansions, as shown in the images below. Out of 10 tests, 7 cases had a Woodland Mansion present either within the Pale Garden itself or in an adjacent Dark Forest biome. Woodland Mansions can be located using a Cartographer villager. For detailed instructions, please refer to the link below.

In the Pale Garden, Pale Oak trees naturally generate and feature a white color palette, making them excellent for building and decoration. All crafting recipes that can be made with regular wood types are also available using Pale Oak.

Open Eye Blossom / Closed Eye Blossom

Finally, the Eye Blossom is a unique flower found only in the Pale Garden. Eye Blossoms exist in two states: Open Eye Blossom and Closed Eye Blossom. These flowers communicate with nearby Eye Blossoms, closing during the daytime and opening at night.

When an Open Eye Blossom is used to craft Suspicious Stew, it grants the Blindness effect. Using a Closed Eye Blossom to craft Suspicious Stew instead grants the Nausea effect. Additionally, using an Open Eye Blossom can apply the Poison effect to bees. Eye Blossoms can also be crafted into dyes at a crafting table: Open Eye Blossom → Orange Dye, Closed Eye Blossom → Gray Dye

Commands

If you prefer using commands, you can locate the nearest Pale Garden by using the following command

/locate biome minecraft:pale_garden

  Creaking

The Creaking is a biome-specific mob that appears at night in the Pale Garden. It is considered invulnerable, meaning it cannot be defeated through normal attacks. To kill a Creaking, you must destroy its Creaking Heart.

One of its most distinctive traits is the opposite behavior of an Enderman: The Creaking does not attack and remains completely still while the player is looking at it. However, if the player is wearing a Carved Pumpkin, the Creaking will attack regardless.

A Creaking begins detecting the player when they come within 12 blocks. It will stop pursuing if it moves more than 32 blocks away from its Heart. If forcibly moved beyond this range, the Creaking will despawn even if its Heart still exists.

The most basic way to locate a Creaking Heart is to attack the Creaking. When hit, white and orange particles will appear, forming a connection that points toward the location of its Heart.

The Creaking’s attack damage is relatively low: 2.5 on Easy, 3 on Normal, 4.5 on Hard

While not especially dangerous in terms of raw damage, its mechanics make it a unique threat.

Creaking Heart

Since the Creaking Heart is fireproof, one effective way to locate it is by setting fire to the surrounding forest, as the Heart will remain intact while everything else burns away. However, if you need wood or other resources, it’s best to gather them first before starting the fire.

Creaking Heart

The Creaking Heart has three different states: Removed, Dormant, and Awakened. Both the Removed and Dormant states look identical, appearing unlit.

When Pale Oak logs and stripped Pale Oak logs are placed above and below the Heart, it will transition into the Awakened state at night, glowing orange. In this state, the Heart scans the surrounding area every 0.1 seconds and can summon Creakings within a 33 × 17 × 33 area centered on itself. When a player or a wolf attacks a connected Creaking, the Creaking Heart continuously generates Resin on nearby trees. This mechanic can be used to create Resin farms.

Finally, breaking a Creaking Heart drops a small amount of experience and Resin. If you want to collect the Heart itself, you must use a tool enchanted with Silk Touch.

The Creaking Heart can also be crafted. It can be created using 1 Resin Block and 2 Pale Oak Logs.

  Resin

Resin Clumps can be smelted in a furnace to create Resin Ingots, or combined in groups of nine to craft a Resin Block, which can be used for decoration.

Resin Clumps can be placed on other blocks as decorative elements.
Resin Ingots are used primarily for adding armor trim patterns, but aside from that, they have no special functional uses.

Finally, using a crafting table, you can craft stairs, fences, and slabs. By using a stonecutter, you can also obtain Carved Resin Blocks featuring Creaking-themed carvings.
